Language

“I have been a teacher for many years, teaching mostly in communities outside of home. Many of these are closed communities that lack exposure to the outside world. In many cases people from these communities don’t speak your language. They have their own language. So for a teacher from outside, it is a challenge to be able to teach and make the students understand. For me, I have been a quick learner, so I have been able to pick up these languages. Sometimes I teach them in their language when they seem to struggle with Nepali. I also understand what they are saying. Even the swear words they use after I discipline them.” (Badri Adhikari, Hansapur VDC, Gorkha. Met him in Laprak, Gorkha)
