"My husband's body returned from Qatar, 7 years ago. Every day, I use to received blank calls from him, 3 times a day. That was his way of communicating and saying he is doing fine. Phone calls were expensive then so we only spoke once or twice a month. But then those calls stopped and I knew something was wrong. I tried calling him back but a strange voice would answer and tell me he was away. I kept calling for several days but with no luck. The same strange voice would keep on making excuses. In my heart I knew something had happened. A week later, they brought his body. If we talk about my sorrows - the struggles of a single mother living in a cruel society - even your eyes will water. Let's not dwell into that. Today, I live with his memories and my son who has grown to be like him. And you know, smiles have also returned." (Gauri Poudel, Bhalam, Kaski)
