(Part 2/2) "I endured for a long time. There is no time in the world to tell all. When you do not have someone to call your own then life ceases to have any meaning. And then slowly you find yourself. You find that you are your own good friend. During those difficult times, I labored for daily wages for I had to bring home food. I did it all by myself. I raised these girls. And as I moved on, I started mingling with the women here in the village. They have come to my rescue several times. Today, my daughters all love me. They have seen my struggle. Their husbands are also good men. They call me every evening and tell me not to worry. They tell me not to overthink. Now things are not so bad.
Just two years ago, I would sleep in this hut while I was menstruating. But now, I sleep in my own bed inside the house. I have started making things easier for myself and my girls. Joining the women group, I have learned so many new things. I have even learned how to document my own life and the life of my friends using a camera. I have also made changes in my house in favor of my girls. I ask them to do the minimal - to keep clean and to respect god. And my daughters listen to me. They know what I tell them comes from a heart recovering from hurt and I say it for their well-being."
