“We don’t have our own farmland so both my husband and I work in someone else’s land growing black cardamom. We keep two thirds of the produce while one third goes to the land owner. We also run a small tea shop, selling cold drinks, eggs and biscuits. My husband and I take turns. When he is at the farm, I look after the tea shop and the kids and vice versa. So you can say things are ok. Not good but also not bad, just okay. We are just hoping we can at least send these two to school and give them an education so that they don’t have to rely on farming.
