"I felt really detached from everyone when my daughter was born. It was a cesarean delivery so the lower half of my body was senseless because of the epidural. When they took her out, I only got one quick glance of her. It took around 30 mins to sew me back up and all this time I was thinking, "No, I am gonna forget her face. Hurry."_x000D_ You said detached._x000D_ "Yes, I don't know why I really could not associate myself with the birth. But, I was very concerned for my daughter even though my husband and my in-laws were all there. It was only when my parents arrived that I breathed a deep sigh of relief. I asked for her only on the third day. When my sister put her in my arms, I was overwhelmed by her beauty but a sudden fear grasped me, as I thought, "She is going to have to go through everything I went through, as a woman."
