"You ask for my story. What is a story of a poor man? You tell me. Or there maybe many. Do I tell you about my life? But a poor man has more life than a rich man and a poor man has more stories than a rich man. For the comforts of a rich man only make for big boasts and the hardships of a poor man make for painful tales. Which one do I tell you, the one that will make your heart weep? Let me tell you, this poor man is a only poor of money but not of heart. I did go to school. Went to school up to 7 and maybe a few months in 8. Listen now, there was no food to eat but I still wanted to go to school and learn about the world. How stupid for me to see such big dreams. But I know english. I think it is not the right time for me to talk in english for I may sound foolish. But was it worth going to school, you may ask. All the education in the world brought no peace to a man's heart. The good to come out of school for me is I can read signs and read letters and I won't get lost. So this is my story, but only a part, my dear brother. But remember my name, my name is Mann Bahadur Rana Magar. I am a poor man of money but I am a rich man of heart." (Mann Bahadur Rana Magar, Lekhnath 11, Kaski)
