“All my children died one after the other. Out of eleven, only three remain to see their youth. And I can assure you these living ones will be there until old age. Some died when they were twelve months, some died at nine years and some at eleven. Some would talk but not make any sense while some had boils all over their body. One died because he could not bear the pain in his stomach. You will not be able to measure the number of times I have cried and the tears I have shed even if you stay and listen to me until sundown. But look, I am still alive. And after every morning meal, I am thinking what to eat in the evening. Because, whatever happens to you, in your life, this hunger is not going to stop. It will only stop when life stops.”
