“My neighbor came with an offer. A businessman from Kathmandu had visited him and he wanted to acquire land to build a big hotel. And apparently, he wanted this piece of land. He said he was going to pay me a handsome amount. But I said ‘No’. The money won’t stay but my land will. We have been farming for as long as I remember and there are so many memories associated with it. I gave birth to my eldest in the nearby shed. And every monsoon, the first afternoon snacks and drinks for the farmers come from my house.”
