Discussing Food

September 13, 2017

“We have been married for a long time. I forget how many years. In those years people have changed and places have changed. But we, husband and wife, remain the same. Every afternoon, she brings me food to the fields where I am working and we eat together. Sometimes, the food is good and sometimes bland. She brings it with love so I eat without complaining. I do not waste food. And working all morning at this age makes me very hungry. I must be over 72 but the citizenship card says I am 68. I do not know which is true.” (Balliram Chaudhary, Lakhantari, Morang)

Ranika-Pariyaar1To sustain Stories of Nepal and to continue my journey to share stories, I have set up this donation page. I hope you will consider donating. The donations raised here will be used mostly for my travel. It will help me reach more places and share more stories of us Nepalis. Having covered over 35 districts, I have plans to cover stories from many other places and districts of Nepal, thus bringing back stories for all of us. Thank you.

Charitable donations are essential to the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival. Without generous, sustained support, the festival would be unable to help talented young artists from Hawai’i attend the festival each July in Waimea. Please help us give the gift of a musical career to a young artist. (Note: The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; donations are tax exempt.)
