“The biggest fear for all of us is the fear of dying. There are many who will say, ‘I am not afraid of dying’ but in their hearts they are. I have endured a lot in this life. I have been with an ever struggling husband whom I care about and I have also seen an ungrateful son. The society in our days prohibited us from doing many things, from touching the communal taps to entering neighbouring houses. But I wonder and it feels strange. No matter how much you suffer, you still want to cling to this life. And you have a stomach that is never satisfied. You buy rice, dal and salt and you eat all the time. You do everything to eat and to live. You cling to this life until the very last moment.” (Bishnu Maya Shiva, Fungling, Taplejung)
